This blog is just a fun project for me. I enjoy sharing information about hiking in Taiwan. If anyone wants to provide support through Buy Me A Coffee, I would be grateful but I don't really need it.

About Me

My photo
In my 20’s I lived in Bolivia while in the Peace Corps. After that I found it hard to readapt to a typical North American lifestyle. Eventually I came to Taiwan and stayed. These days I am sort of a responsible dirtbag. I try to live simply. I spend time with my family, work quite a lot as an English teacher and go hiking whenever I can. I’ve done a lot of hiking in Taiwan-- mostly day hikes but also backpacking trips and some multi-day high-mountain hikes. I like hiking familiar trails but there are so many new places to discover, too. For such a small place, Taiwan has so much to offer. I started this blog to have a record for myself, to motivate me to go hiking more often and to get more enjoyment out of it. Of course, I also hope some people will read it and visit some of the same places. Disclaimer: All of my descriptions are subjective: based upon my opinions and the conditions at the time of the hike.
